Well…. my birthday week is here! And… so is election week. It’s gonna be a full and emotional week! WOWZA!
I mostly wanted to kick off this week by saying a big THANK YOU to each of you who have read this blog throughout the last 40 weeks. Although I didn’t always get to a blog each week, I am so grateful for your following along on the journey!
I received some profound texts of gratitude. I heard some profound God-moment stories of people reading a post at just the right time in their day or week or life! Wow! I am honored that things resonated with you, things touched your heart and maybe gave some healing or moving forward in your own life. I am also grateful for the ways people shared comments and shared their own experiences in life.
I am just so convinced that we need each other to do life well! So thank you for being in my life and for following along on this journey.
And… as we go into this week, I want to remind us all that no matter what happens this week, we have each other. We will go forward! Pastor Michael, in his sermon yesterday at University Congregational UCC, spoke about grief and he noted that no matter what happens this week and how we feel about the results, there is likely still going to be a sense of grief! Grief of the division and the state of our world. It was a good reminder that no matter what, we will all still be feeling some feelings. So… let’s take care of ourselves, let’s take care of each other, let’s be gentle, kind, and continue on the road of life with humility, grace and working for justice in the world! He also referenced my blog post “the only way through is through”. You can read it here.
Shifting back to birthday week - I also want to give a little shout out to my Grandma whose birthday would be Tuesday, November 5th. We always shared our birthdays together! It was a connection so wonderful and meaningful! So… happy birthday week too to Grandma Margaret!
I went to go find a picture of my grandma and me on our birthday week a while back, but then I stumbled upon this amazing video! It’s from a church service where we honored our clergy and my grandma who was working for the church and it was her 90th birthday! It also features me and my aunt singing her favorite hymn! So… here’s to you Grandma!
Thanks again everyone! More posts to come this week as we count down!
Such a tender moment - how I remember that! And manny happy returns of the day (what are returns anyway? Happy Birthday !
Margaret, watched the video and so good to see Margaret being honored. I also loved glimpses of precious members who have also passed, many choir folks plus some in audience. A wonderful reminder of a significant and wonderful event.
